Paluma Rainforest Cottages

Paluma Rainforest Cottages is a family business run by Bill and Linda Venn who have lived in Paluma for 25 years, happily serving the visiting public. Our aim is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Our two cottages, Mt Spec Cottage and Fatima Cottage offer visitors to Paluma comfortable home-style, fully self-contained AAA-rated accommodation. Queen-sized beds, all linen, pillows, doonas and electric blankets are supplied, as are laundry facilities and undercover car parking. Each cottage accommodates 4-5 people and is set in its own spacious, private garden. Cottages are insect-screened and fully equipped for self-catering, with a fridge, stove, microwave, TV, DVD player and radio. If you don't feel like cooking, our cottages are across the road from Paluma's new licensed restaurant.

Experience all four seasons with Paluma rainforest Cottages, as summer temperatures are often ten degrees cooler than Townsville. Mobile phones and pagers don't work in Paluma, and both our cottages are heated, so escape and snuggle up for a romantic weekend. Winters can be cold, making Paluma an excellent venue for friends to celebrate Christmas in July.

For the avid birdwatcher, we guarantee success all year round. If you want to see specific species, we can provide you with valuable local knowledge. Many of our Wet Tropics rainforest birds are hard to find elsewhere in North Queensland but here you can hand-feed them from the comfort of your own verandah. Our bird watching kits are available upon request.
